Several high-street stores said they were “shocked” and “frightened” after seeing the extent of a brand-new nail salon’s exterior severely damaged.

Nail Hub, on Epping High Street, was set to officially open for business on Tuesday, July 2, before a vehicle ram-raided into the store at around 4am.

Essex Police attended the scene shortly after, were two officers were seen standing outside the premises by nearby stores.

Numerous stores contacted by Epping Forest Guardian asked to remain anonymous when asked about the incident for the fear of being targeted themselves.

Shop owners also confirmed this was the second time in around three to four months the former Aromaround store has been struck in the same attack.

A speaker from real estate agents Montagues, just two doors down from Nail Hub, said: “As I pulled up this morning, I saw there has been another incident again, where the windows were all smashed up and police standing outside.

“I don’t even know who owns it, the only people in the shop we have seen are builders.”

Officers later found a silver Ford Focus car abandoned at an address nearby on Tower Road, Epping, which they believe its connected to the incident.

Anyone who was in the area around this time, witnessed any suspicious behaviour or saw anyone driving a silver Ford Focus and has dash cam footage, are asked to contact Loughton CID on 101, quoting incident 146 of 2 July.
