A man has been charged with murder after a fatal shooting in a snooker hall.

The shooting happened at the Phoenix Club in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton shortly before 3am on July 7.

Liridon Saliuka, 29, of no fixed abode was charged on Tuesday (July 16) with the murder of 27-year-old Grineo Daka, possession of a firearm, and grievous bodily harm with intent.

He will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, July 17).

At the time of the incident, officers found Mr Daka suffering from a gunshot injury.

Despite the efforts of Met Police officers and the London Ambulance Service, he died at the scene.

Mr Daka's next of kin have been informed.

A post-mortem examination took place at Walthamstow mortuary on July 9 and it gave the cause of death as a single gunshot.

An investigation by homicide detectives based within the Specialist Crime Command remains ongoing.
