Footballer Andy Carroll has applied for planning permission to build a gazebo made of oak in his garden.
The West Ham striker currently lives in the Copped Hall estate mansion in Epping once home to singer Sir Rod Stewart.
The planning application was submitted to Epping Forest District Council on Sunday, July 7.
The documents listing the outline of Mr Carroll’s proposed gazebo include using Oak “to keep in character of the grounds of being woodlands and fields.”
The proposed structure will stand 15m away from the Grade II listed mansion, using treated cedar wood shingle for the roof to closely match the colour of the roof tiles of the house.
It is also stated that the gazebo will not block any key features of the Copped Hall estate and no demolitions or alterations will be needed.
