A charity-funded volunteer group has received a whopping £18,000 worth of donations from several community groups across the district.
Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF), based in Thornwood, helps some of Epping Forest’s most vulnerable residents with their health and wellbeing.
Fundraising events have included activities at Roding Valley Rotary Club’s former president running the London Marathon and support from Theydon Bois Golf Club.
Jacqui Foile, chief officer at VAEF, said: “We are so delighted to have been donated this money and so grateful to all those people who have gone to such lengths to raise it.
“This money helps VAEF continue with its services across Epping Forest, improving and enriching the lives of hundreds of isolated, elderly and vulnerable people”.
