The M11 is shut heading northbound after a serious crash.

All emergency services are at the scene, including fire crews, the incident happened by a roundabout at Junction 11 near Harlow shortly before 3pm today.

Commuters can expect of at least a one hour delay in while traffic is diverted by police to allow paramedics attend to the scene.

A Highways England spokesperson said: "The M11 northbound in Essex is closed at junction 7 while the emergency services deal with a collision.

"A diversion route is currently in place, with traffic being diverted around the collision using entry and exit slip roads at the junction 7 roundabout."

The driver who managed to capture the shocking images of emergency services at the scene at around 3pm, said: “The traffic is diverted to come off at Harlow roundabout.

"There is atraffic jam as far back as I could see - so bad."

Tailbacks are reportedly stretching as far as junction 6 for the M25 interchange, with queues also building anti-clockwise.

Motorists are advised to avoid the route if at all possible, and if not, allow extra time for their journey.
