A secondary school and members of a town council managed to raise over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Debden Park High School in Loughton raised £350 in honour of the annual World’s biggest coffee event.
Year 12 students helped co-ordinate the event which saw donations of cakes bought in from both pupils and staff which were then sold at break and lunch-time.
Joe Simm, director of Debden Park Sixth Form, said: "It was so good once again to see the whole school come together for an important cause.
"The cakes looked amazing. Well done to all involved."
Elsewhere Waltham Abbey Town Council held their own event in honour of the occasion, raising £265.

Town clerk Kathryn Richmond said: "We would like to thank everyone who attended and all those who donated some absolutely delicious bakes."
