Important resurfacing works are set to begin on the M11 tonight, resulting in overnight closures for six weeks.

From 8pm and 6am Monday to Fridays, the motorway will be shut every night, beginning at junction 7 by Harlow to junction 8 by Stansted Interchange.

However, roadworks will only affect traffic heading northbound for the first few weeks from Tuesday, October 1 to Wednesday, October 23.

Construction on the Southbound side will be staggered later from Monday, October 21 until Wednesday, November 13.

An official diversion route has been set up for overnight drivers in place which will relocate them on the A41, A10 and A120.
