A mobile vet team are stopping by to offer free pet health checks and advice to owners as part of their national tour this month.

The People's Dispensary for Sick Animals (PSDA) is the UK’s leading veterinary charity who provide free and low-cost treatments for poorly animals.

The charity’s brand-new £250,000 PetWise Mobile Unit next stop is at Hainault Forest on Romford Road, Chigwell, on Thursday, October 17 and Friday October 18, from 10am to 4pm.

The visit is part of its mission to help every pet live a happy, healthy life and provide a variety of services, including vaccination clinics and free pet MOTs.

PDSA community vet nurse manager, Sue Bartlett, said: “People in Chigwell are very lucky as this is one of the first places in the UK to benefit from our new PetWise vehicle offering state-of-the-art facilities so we can help pets and their owners.

“We know people love their pets and want the best for them, which is why PDSA is here to help.

“Thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery we can offer free, friendly advice and support, helping owners to make small changes that often make big differences to the wellbeing of pets in Chigwell.”

Additional services include free nail clipping and ear cleaning are available free of charge, while microchipping will be available for a small fee.

The vaccination clinics are available for PDSA clients only and must be booked in advance by calling 0208 980 5011.
