Dame Eleanor Laing
Deputy Speaker Dame Eleanor Laing MP, writing in last Sunday’s Telegraph, made a scathing attack on the behaviour and impartiality of the current speaker, taxi driver’s son John Bercow. He has bent the rules and made up others to tilt the balance in favour of Remainers. He has also been involved in as yet unresolved allegations of bullying and has spent a fortune on travelling.
Although she would be unable to vote on our behalf maybe Dame Eleanor would make a good speaker after all if she could restore probity to this great office.
