A care home has been rated as ‘good’ following an unannounced inspection.

The Care Quality Commission awarded Hadley Lawns Bupa Care Home in Barnet the rating for their safety, effectiveness, caring, responsiveness and leadership.

People living in the care home and relatives were positive about the service and complimentary about the staff during the inspection.

When asked about living at the home, one person said: "I feel safe and looked after. I've been here a good while."

A relative added: "We looked at many care homes. We are thrilled with it. We love it. We know the staff, and we know the manager. I would recommend it, most definitely."

The report praised staff for continuously assessing and reviewing people’s care with the respective person being involved throughout.

Inspectors found that people were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible.

Commissioners also found that staff had a good understanding in how to protect people from harm, being able to recognise different types of abuse and how to report it.

General Manager, Evi Beletsioti, said: “We are really pleased with the result of the inspection and it’s great to be recognised for the quality of care we are providing.”
