A school’s student leadership team have been training to organise fundraising events.

Year 11 and 13 students at Debden Park High School along with the Debden Hearts have been training to plan whole school events such as fundraisers, revision sessions and assemblies that they will host and be responsible for.

The students, part of the school’s student leadership body, worked in mixed groups across Year 11, 12 and 13 to share strategic ideas they can use to drive the school forward for all year groups.

Assistant headteacher Demetris Kalogirou said: "It is imperative that our students are able to regularly share their thoughts and ideas about school life so we can continue to embed a range of effective and valuable strategies in and out of the classroom.

"By achieving this, we continue to strengthen our bridges across Year 7-13 and continue to put our students first."

Students will be planning and preparing for the school's Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday, November 14 (4.30pm-6.30pm).

In addition, Year 11 will be having their mock interview day, their 'proud' assembly and then will attend the Sixth Form Open Evening alongside other Year 11 students from a range of different schools.
