Former Watford players joined guests at Watford Museum last week to mark the success of a publication celebrating the club’s history.
Now onto its fifth volume, the Watford Treasury portrays a visual history of the club through “sharing memories, sharing knowledge, sharing photographs, sharing prized possessions, and sharing that love and passion that only a football club can engender among those who, for better or worse, choose to invest so much into it.”
Nigel Gibbs, Walter Lees and Peter Walker joined former members of club staff and fans at the museum where they were able to enjoy viewing the growing collection of Watford-related items curated by Sarah Priestley, who hosted last Thursday's event.
Published with the support of the club and the Watford Observer, the Watford Treasury is published in collaboration with the museum and the artefacts on display included items collated by Trefor Jones, the club’s archivist who died earlier this year.
The fifth volume of the Watford Treasury costs £6 and is on sale at the museum, the Hornets shop and via thewatfordtreasury.co.uk
