Tributes poured in following the death of a footballer and TV personality who died in March.

The body of Mike Thalassitis, 26, was found in Edmonton on March 15.

An inquest later confirmed his death to be suicide.

Mr Thalassitis played for a number of non-league football clubs but was better known for his television appearances on Love Island and Celebs Go Dating.

Before his death, Mr Thalassitis was set to open a restaurant in Loughton.

He was due to open The Skillet with his business partner Scott Neilson.

The restaurant did open, but closed down in September.

Elsewhere in Loughton, campaigners were celebrating after Epping Forest District Council scrapped plans to turn a green space into a car park.

The council wanted to turn green land in Marlescroft Way into a place for maintenance staff to park its vehicles, but nearly 900 people signed a petition opposing the plans.

The council eventually gave into the pressure and binned the idea.
