The Essex Energy Switch has been launched by Essex County Council, where people can sign up and see how much you could potentially save on your gas and electricity bills.

If you registered last year, you would need to sign up again this year to continue saving.

To register for free, residents must submit a copy of your latest energy bill, which could save you up to £250.

A statement from Essex County Council says: “The best part is we do all the hard work for you, meaning you don’t have to waste time hunting around for the best deals.

“In fact, the tariffs offered through the Essex Energy Switch are often cheaper than those found on price comparison sites.”

There is no obligation to switch providers once you’ve registered and the more people that sign-up, the bigger the potential saving per household.

Big Energy Saving Week is also a great opportunity to take action to reduce overall energy consumption.

Simple things such as turning off lights when we’re not using them, or spending a little less time in the shower, all add up to make a big difference to the environment.

Essex Energy Switch Essex Energy Switch will be open until, Monday, February 10. To sign up, click here.
