A service marking the 75th anniversary of Holocaust Memorial Day was held at The Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust.
Rabbi Irit Shillor from the Harlow Jewish Community, along with PAHT chaplaincy team, patients and visitors met in the hospital’s chapel to hear readings and reflect together today (Monday, January 27).
This year marks 75 years since the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and the theme for this year is ‘stand together’.
Reverend Christian Okeke, hospital lead chaplain, said: “We were honoured to work with our colleagues from the hospital and community to hold this special service for Holocaust Memorial Day.
“It was a poignant service that gave us an opportunity to join together to reflect on this year’s theme of ‘stand together’– thank you to everyone involved.”
A memorial service was also held at Harlow Civic Centre on Sunday, January 26.
