A SERIES of flood alerts have been issued for Dorset and Ringwood.
The Environment Agency has issued alerts for the Lower Avon and tributaries and Lower Frome and tributaries with groundwater flooding possible in the Cranborne Chase area and the west of Dorset.
The flood alert for Ringwood says: “River levels remain high at the Ringwood Old Cottage river gauge as a result of the previous rainfall events and saturated ground conditions. Consequently, the risk of flooding remains.
“Areas most at risk are tributaries between Ringwood and Christchurch. Blustery showers are forecast in the coming days and we expect river levels to remain high. We are closely monitoring the situation and this message will be updated as the situation changes.”
The Environment Agency says river levels also remain high at East Stoke.
A spokesperson said: “We believe there is a possibility of flooding for tributaries between Dorchester and Wareham.”
