A total of 22 businesses have pledged to fundraise £1,000 each throughout the year in honour of a hospice’s 30th anniversary.

St Clare Hospice in Hastingwood launched their ’30 make 30K’ birthday challenge on Thursday, January 30.

The hospice, which has supported over 15,000 families across west Essex and east Hertfordshire since 1990, is welcoming any company to sign up

Charlotte Durham, corporate fundraising officer at St Clare Hospice, who is running the campaign, said: “St Clare has been supporting local people for three decades now, and our 30th birthday is definitely a cause for celebration.

“Our ‘30 make £30k’ campaign is about ensuring we will also be there in the future, and what better way to celebrate 30 years of care, compassion, growth and teamwork, than by joining together and raising vital funds to help us continue to care.”

One of the first businesses to sign up to the challenge was Simply Washrooms in North Weald, director, Samantha Stocks, commented: “2020 is a big year for St Clare and we are delighted to be supporting our local hospice through the ‘30 make £30k’ challenge.

“We value the relationship we have with St Clare and, as a local company, we know the difference that the charity makes to local people living with a life-limiting illness.

“We’re really excited to take on this year-long fundraising challenge and to see what innovative ideas our staff come up with to smash our £1,000 target – we know we can raise much more than that.”
