An appeal has been launched after a man was threatened with a knife while sitting in his car.

Essex Police were called at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, March 10, after the victim reported in Chippingfield, Harlow.

The victim, a 19-year-old man from Sawbridgeworth, was sitting in his vehicle chatting to a friend when a car pulled up behind them with its full beam lights on.

A moped rider then went to the driver’s side of the victim’s car before threatening the occupants with a knife.

The suspects left with the victim's car keys, officers believe they were disturbed after security lights from a neighbouring property activated.
