Essex County Council is working to mitigate the “unprecedented impacts” of coronavirus on businesses.

The county council has announced several initiatives limit disruption in the coming months and “support people and business”.

As well as implementing the government’s financial package to support business, the county council is liaising with partners on how to tackle specific short terms issues, such as unemployment and immediate staffing shortages in areas where the council expects there to be a skills need including cleaners, security and health and social care staff.

The council is also sharing experiences across the county with the government to further inform future initiatives.

A spokesperson from the council said: “As further details of the support measures outlined by the government are released, we will be providing further information on our website and direct to businesses, as well as working with partners to develop our approach moving forward.”
