Burglars have ransacked and left significant damages to the Harlow Town FC shop.

Harlow Town FC have announced that their club shop on Elizabeth Way was broken into the afternoon of last Friday (April 4), stealing pitch maintenance equipment and damaging the store.

The club claims the garage for the shop was forced open with a vehicle, leaving behind significant damage both inside and outside.

They were seen leaving the premises and a police investigation is now underway.

A statement from the club says: “At a time when non-league clubs up and down the country are having their finances and very existence tested to an unprecedented level, it’s heart breaking that these individuals can take it upon themselves to inflict even more difficulties.

“The coronavirus outbreak has seen our football season cut short, and with the necessary social distancing measures that have now been introduced and revenue streams harder and harder to come by, further expense and repair work is the last thing that was needed for anyone right now”.

Anyone with further information about the incident is asked to contact Essex Police.
