PICTURES show a police cordon in place outside a care home where a man was killed.
Essex Police have launched a murder investigation following the death at a care home in Swan lane, Wickford - believed to be Longcroft Care Home - last night.
The victim, a man in his 60s, was attacked inside the home at around 7pm.
Emergency services were called to the scene but despite the efforts of paramedics, the man sadly died.
A 43-year-old man from Wickford has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

He remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
Reports from the scene say an air ambulance landed in a field near to the care home between 7pm and 8pm last night.
Emergency services were at the scene throughout the evening and night on Thursday.
The care home has been contacted for comment.
