Epping Forest District Museum will be reopening on Saturday 1 August 2020.
It has been shut to the public since March 2020 following government guidance during the Covid-19 pandemic and is due to reopen with various extra safety measures in place and a fresh new look to one of the galleries.
The museum was awarded a Visit Britain ‘We’re Good to Go’ safety certificate, which shows that a business adheres to the Government and public health guidance.
To ensure the safety and comfort of visitors and staff there will be a hand sanitiser station at the entrance and extra cleaning routines in place.
People will be encouraged to maintain social distancing and, in line with government guidance, visitors are encouraged to wear face coverings if possible.
Museum staff will also be asking visitors to leave their contact details to help with Test, Track and Trace.
Councillor Holly Whitbread, portfolio holder for housing and community services, said: "We are delighted to be reopening the museum. The museum has been closed for a number of months as a result of lockdown. We are excited for people to see the changes that have been made during this time, enhancing the facility and ensuring it can operate safely.
"Epping Forest District Museum is a brilliant place to experience local history and our welcoming and knowledgeable staff will be on hand to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit."
