    Thousands of students across Epping Forest, Waltham Forest and Redbridge will be waking up to their A-level results amid last-minute changes to appeals.

  • As exams were cancelled this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, students will be receiving calculated grades to help them progress onto university, work or training.

  • After the controversial method of moderated calculated grades was scrapped in Scotland, the Government has introduced a “triple lock” approach for school leavers in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

  • Pupils can go with their mock exam/teacher estimate result, the moderated grade, or they can sit an exam in the autumn. They can take whichever mark is higher.

  • The Ucas deadline for applicants to meet their academic offer conditions is September 7, which leaves exam boards less than four weeks to issue outcomes of appeals from schools and colleges.
