A HOSPICE is calling on cake-lovers and coffee drinkers to help raise money for the charity. St Clare Hospice’s team have launched a brand-new fundraising campaign and are looking to host a socially-distanced ‘Coffee, Cake and Care’ event this September. The hospice provides care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones across west Essex and east Herts, and needs the support of local communities even more this autumn to overcome the impact of coronavirus on its fundraising income over the past six months. St Clare’s community fundraising and events manager Dani De’Ath said: “Coffee, Cake and Care is our new fundraising campaign, and your chance to eat cake and help St Clare to care! “St Clare Hospice is facing a projected gap of up to £600,000 in income in the 12 months from the start of the coronavirus outbreak. We need your support now, more than ever, to ensure we keep caring for people facing life-limiting illnesses, and their families, throughout the coronavirus outbreak and beyond. Whether you make £20 or £200, every pound counts and means so much to the local families we support.”
