With documentary evidence of a church on the site in 1181, All Saints (The Old Church) in Old Church Road is the oldest surviving building in Chingford.
It was abandoned in the 1840’s in favor of the new church on 'The Green'.
The Nave roof collapsed in 1904 and the church became a local attraction.
The church was restored as you see it today by the generosity of Louisa Boothby-Heathcote’s donation back in 1930.
