Police officers called out to a reported burglary recovered a stolen motorcycle from the suspects.
Essex Police were called to reports of two men acting suspiciously and trying to gain entry to front doors in the early hours of yesterday morning (September 14).
Within two minutes of the call being logged officers had arrived at the scene in Waltham Abbey.
The suspects fled the scene but dropped a motorcycle they had been wheeling along with them in their haste to escape.
The motorcycle, which was identified as stolen, has since been returned to its rightful owner.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said in a Facebook post: “Loughton Lpt D shift deployed to Waltham Abbey during the early hours of this morning after eagle eyed residents spotted two males acting suspiciously and trying front door handles which were all double locked.
“Two minutes exactly and the first unit arrived and our officers deployed forcing the males to flee and drop the motorcycle they were silently wheeling away from an address.
“Now back home with the owner, where it belongs. Good spot Waltham Abbey residents.”
