A van driver tested positive for drugs after holding up a police car trying to respond to an emergency.

In a post of Facebook post officers from Essex Police Epping Forest detailed how they were stuck behind the blue van for four miles while the diver drove at speeds of up to 90mph and refusing to make way for the police.

The post read: "Responding to a 999 call and this driver completely ignored the unit behind him with siren and blue lights going for four miles while he drove at 85-90 mph.

"Another unit had to be deployed to cover the emergency, potentially then taking that unit away from any nearby emergency.

"So with their 999 call cancelled this unit then eventually pulled over this van which was obstructing them.

"Careless driving and speeding was a given and the added positive drugs test was no great surprise either!"
