Watford are planning for life in the Championship with winger Ismaila Sarr, who is understood to not be leaving the club today.

The domestic transfer window closes at 5pm this evening ahead of the Hornets' away trip to Derby County and head coach Vladimir Ivic has been planning for the player to be a part of his matchday squad.

The winger had drawn interest from Liverpool, Manchester United and most recently Crystal Palace, but none of the three were willing to meet either Watford's valuation or their requested payment structure.

United's interest dwindled after an international deadline day offer was rejected, leaving Palace the only real option for Sarr after Liverpool turned their attention to Diogo Jota.

Watford Observer:

However, no offer had arrived yesterday and the club are now understood to have drawn a line under the matter and are expected to reject any late bids should they materialise, given that there is no real time remaining for them to bring in a suitable replacement.

Head coach Vladimir Ivic said in his press conference yesterday that he hoped Sarr would stay and be an important player this season, stating: "For sure, I want to keep him because he's an important player for us."

Sarr looks to be the third first-team player to be ruled out of a move away from the club today with captain Troy Deeney and Kiko Femenia both now looking likely to stay.
