Watford managed to find a late winner against Derby County after what had been a thoroughly dull game of football.
Creativity was lacking from the Hornets, who scored with their only shot on target.
Here's how we rated their individual efforts.
Ben Foster - 6
Watford weren't the only team lacking creativity, with Foster having little to do in goal. He did all that was asked of him, though.
Jeremy Ngakia - 5.5
Defended well, but failed to contribute going forward. Needs to work on his link up play with the attacking players.
Ben Wilmot - 6.5
Set up Joao Pedro's goal with a burst forward and defended steadily once again.
William Troost-Ekong - 6.5
A really solid debut from the Nigerian, who went off with a slight injury that Vladimir Ivic will hope is nothing serious. Showed real leadership in the centre of defence.
Christian Kabasele - 6.5
Looked confident alongside Ekong and kept Wayne Rooney relatively quiet throughout.
Kiko Femenia - 7
The Hornets looked sharpest down the left-hand-side with Femenia and Ken Sema linking up to great effect. Defended well too.
Nathaniel Chalobah - 5.5
The centre of the park was where Watford had their greatest problems, with cohesion clearly lacking. Chalobah struggled to adapt to the game.
Tom Cleverley - 5
A lot of poor decisions and a lack of attacking intent. Needs to move forward more often and with greater urgency.
Domingos Quina - 5
Just can't seem to find his feet at the moment for one reason or another.
Ken Sema - 6.5
Made some effective runs, but his final ball was often poor.
Joao Pedro - 7
A stunning strike to win the game, created from very little.
SUBSTITUTES
Craig Cathcart - 6
Had little to do, but filled in well.
Glenn Murray - N/A
Joined the match too late to make an impact.
James Garner - N/A
Joined the match too late to make an impact.
