There were more than 150 new coronavirus infection in Epping Forest in a week.

Between October 15 and 22 – the most up-to-date accurate figures – the district posted an infection rate of 127.6 new cases per 100,000 people (168 infections).

The week before there had been 135 new cases in the district which has an approximate population of 120,000 – an infection rate of 102.5.

Data for the most recent days (October 23 – 27) is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.

In Harlow, the rate of infection is slowly marching towards 100 cases per 100,000 people.

In the seven days to October 22 there were 66 new lab-confirmed cases at a rate of 75.8, up from a rate of 68.9 (60 cases) the week prior.

The trust which runs Epping Forest and Harlow’s main hospital, The Princess Alexandra Hospital, has recorded four coronavirus deaths since September 23 (following four months without a death) with the latest on October 8.

The trust has reported 205 total Covid-related deaths.

Yesterday, across the country a further 207 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths in hospitals in England to 32,117.

Patients were aged between 36 and 101 years old. All except six (aged 60 to 93 years old) had known underlying health conditions.
