A man who stabbed a woman and three children has pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted murder.

Liban Malhamoub, 45, was under investigation by police investigating a quadruple stabbing at an address in Enfield in July 2019.

The woman in her 30s was stabbed repeatedly before stab wounds were inflicted on three young children.

Two of the children managed to escape the house, with one running to a shop for help before neighbours came out onto the street after hearing screams.

The woman and two children required surgery.

The Met said all those involved were known to each other.

When police attended the scene of the stabbings, they found four knives.

At the Old Bailey on Monday, Malhamoub pleaded guilty to four counts of attempted murder, after changing his pleas on the fourth day of his trial.

Malhamoub will be sentenced on March 12 at the Old Bailey.
