DRIVERS had "no reason" to travel across Essex after they were stopped by police.

Officers say they stopped the occupants of a car in Epping Forest, after the vehicle had travelled from Grays last night, and have urged everyone to stay at home.

The drivers had "no reason" to travel approximately 27 miles acrossthe county last night.

Lockdown rules state you are allowed outside for exercise, but this must be local to your home.


A spokesman from Essex Roads Policing, said: "The occupants had “no reason” and that was their words to be out in Epping Forest having driven from Grays during this Covid-19 Pandemic, please stay at home unless you need to leave under the rules set out to us all."
