There have been 48 coronavirus deaths at hospitals run by the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust in the last week.
The trust, which runs three hospitals, has recorded 380 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Between January 5 – 12 there were 48 deaths, up from 34 deaths the week before.
Harlow, which now has the fifth worst rate of infection in England, has seen a slight fall in cases.
The town’s current infection rate is 1349.5, down from 1420.7.
In the seven days to January 8 there were 1,175 new cases in the Harlow, the week before there had been 1,237 new cases.
The rate of infection in Epping Forest has also begun to slow but remains above 1,000 new cases per 100,000 people.
Epping Forest recorded 1,520 new lab-confirmed coronavirus cases between January 1 and January 8, an infection rate of 1154.2– the nineteenth worst in England.
The Essex district had previously posted one of the highest infection rates in the country; the week prior it posted 1,908 new cases at an infection rate of 1,448.9.
