The son of businessman and TV star Mick Norcross has paid a heartfelt tribute to his dad on the day of his funeral. 

Mr Norcross, 57, was found at his home in Upminster on January 21.

Mr Norcross, the father of TOWIE star Kirk Norcross, was best known as the owner of the celebrity nightspot the Sugar Hut in Brentwood.

His funeral was held yesterday. 

His son Mason described him as "the best dad a boy could ever ask for" in the touching tribute. 

Posting on Instagram he said: "To my dad today is the day we put you to rest.

"I am truly lost for words you was my everything I am so grateful for everything you done for all of us you was the best dad a boy could ever ask for!

"You was such a strong man there was so many things I wanted to say to you.

"I didn’t ever think this day would come that I would have to write this.

"Ever since I left school you always wanted me in work and I tried my best everyday to go because I know i would be expecting a phone call, you would always check on me everyday no matter how bad your day was, you would keep it strong and I am so happy for that.

"I will try so hard for you dad and I will look after mum and Hollie forever like you always told me to.

"Thankyou for teaching me everything you did.

"There will not be a day that goes by where I won’t think about you you have took a part from me that I will never get back, you was one special man and loved by so many.

"I wish I could thank you for everything you done for me you gave me the best 19 years a boy could ever ask for, I will love you forever dad until we meet again ❤️"

Mr Norcross first appeared on Towie in 2011 during the show's second series - and his son Kirk, 32, was part of the original cast.

He was also known for the development of The Grand hotel in Leigh.

Gemma Collins, James Argent, Lauren Goodger and Mario Falcone were among the current and former stars of the reality TV show who paid tribute to Mr Norcross on social media last month.
