Almost one third of the population of the Epping Forest constituency has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccination, latest figures show.

NHS figures, published on February 25, which reveal some 31,345 people in the constituency (31 per cent) have received at least their first jab have been welcomed by Epping Forest MP Dame Eleanor Laing.

Dame Eleanor said: "I am delighted the rollout of the vaccinations in our area is proving such a success and I am really pleased so many people are taking up the invitation to have the vaccination.

"Every vaccination is reducing the risk of Covid-19 in our community."

Dame Eleanor added: "Over the Christmas period the Epping Forest district was at the top of the table for case rates in the country.

"Thankfully, with people following the restrictions, we have seen the case rate fall dramatically - but we are not in the clear yet.

"There is still a long way to go and we must all follow the rules which have been imposed for a reason.

"I would urge everyone to take up the invitation of a vaccinationn when they are contacted by the NHS."
