A man has been left with 'life-changing injuries' after being hit by a lorry on the M11.
The victim, a man in his 60s from Epping, had been driving a silver I-Pace Jaguar, which had left the road.
After getting out of his vehicle he was involved in a collision with a lorry.
He remains in hospital with life-changing injuries, but is in a stable condition.
The M11 between Junction 7 (A414 for Chelmsford and Harlow) and Junction 8 (A120/Stansted) was closed for several hours following the incident shortly before 2.30pm yesterday (Monday, March 1).
Essex Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage to establish the circumstances surrounding this collision – no arrests have been made at this stage.
Anyone who witnessed it, may have seen the Jaguar leave the road or driving beforehand, or who has any relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact Essex Police by calling 101.
The incident number to quote is 640 of 1 March.
