Roadworks are set to cause the temporary closure of several roads in Waltham Forest, Epping Forest and Harlow during this month and beyond.

Notices from the London Borough of Waltham Forest and Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian detail the works that are scheduled to take place.

An order comes into effect from tomorrow for the closure of Pretoria Avenue E17, between its junctions with Lime Street and Essex Close, due to the installation of multiple utility connections.

The order is valid for a year, but the leaflets will be sent out and signage placed in advance to give specific details of when the works will be taking place and the effects of any temporary traffic management.

A six-week order is scheduled to come into operation on March 18 on Burwell Road E10, within a distance of 20 metres of its junction with Lea Bridge Road, for resurfacing and crossing work.

Again, leaflets and signage will advise of exact dates and specific details of the work.

Meanwhile, an 18-month programme of works affecting various roads in Harlow took effect from February 25.

This means various sections of Southern Way, Paringdon Close, Partridge Road, Tawneys Road and Windsor Place/Edinburgh Way will be temporarily closed, with various other restrictions also in place, but the works will be carried out in a phased manner on exact dates to be specified.

Another phased closure valid for an 18-month period also took effect from February 25 for Forest Lane, in Chigwell, as did one for Nichol Road, Epping.

A section of Woodbury Hill, Loughton, is due to be temporarily closed to traffic for five days from Monday for roadworks.

Part of Hoe Lane, Nazeing, is also scheduled to be shut from Monday for three days due to work carried out by Affinity Water.

Elsewhere in Nazeing, a length of Black Lane is scheduled to be closed to traffic on March 10 while BT carry out work.
