A new virtual high street service that aims to support independent shops during the pandemic is to launch in Epping Forest tomorrow.

From Thursday, March 11 residents anywhere in the district can use Click It Local Epping Forest enabling them to buy from any local shop and have it delivered on the same day.

From weekly food essentials, gifts and treats to last-minute basics, customers can buy everything they need from as many shops as they like, with one payment and one delivery.

The scheme has been announced in partnership with Epping Forest’s District Council.

Cllr John Philip, portfolio holder for finance and economic development, said: “During these uncertain and challenging times we know that local retailers need every resource available to thrive in a difficult marketplace.

"I am therefore pleased to announce that the council has been working with Click It Local to provide a shopping experience that allows customers to browse and purchase local goods online and have them delivered directly to their home.

"I hope that as many local traders as possible will take advantage of this scheme and that residents will enjoy discovering the convenience and peace of mind shopping online whilst supporting our local traders and the future of our high streets”.

Steve Koch, founder of Click It Local, added: “I love shopping locally so wanted to find a way to help small shops offer the same level of speed and convenience that today’s online customers have come to expect. Our aim is to ensure we can all continue to shop local, support independent shops and provide for the local community.”
