A man was threatened with a knife and robbed of his watch while queuing at a Waltham Abbey McDonald’s drive-thru.

The victim was threatened through his car window by a man, with what police believe was a knife, while he was waiting in line to order food at the Highbridge Retail Park branch.

Essex Police are only now appealing for help from the public following the incident at about 9pm on Thursday, April 15.

Detectives have released an image of a man wanted for questioning in connection with the incident, which resulted in the victim’s watch being stolen.

The man is described as being white, in his early twenties and around six-foot tall. He was wearing a yellow high visibility jacket over a hooded jacket, with a face covering, ski mask and blue cycling helmet.

He is believed to have left the area in the direction of Waltham Cross.

Anyone who may know the individual or witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have Dash cam footage from the time, is asked to contact Essex Police on 101 quoting crime reference 42/69035/21.
