A health care worker’s BMW was stolen after their car keys were pinched while they were on shift.

It was the second instance of a care worker’s car being stolen in the county in the space of one week.

The staff members car was stolen from outside Waltham Abbey Health Centre in Sewardstone Road between 10.30am and 1.30pm while.

Their keys were taken from the pocket of their coat, stored for their shift, and used to steal their grey BMW X3 – registration GJ62 FLM – from the car park outside their workplace.

Essex Police’s Stolen Vehicle Intelligence Unit are only now appealing for witnesses following the theft on April 13.

On Wednesday, April 7 a grey Ford Galaxy – registration CE68 MEV – was taken from outside Deal Tree Health Centre in Blackmore Road, Doddinghurst, between 8.45am and 11.53am.

In this instance, the victim’s car keys were also stolen from their coat pocket while they worked.

A spokesperson for Essex Police said: “Both vehicles are still outstanding and our enquiries are ongoing.

“If you saw anyone acting suspiciously, either of the vehicles being taken from the area, or may have dashcam footage of the vehicle being driven throughout the district during or after the above time periods, please contact us.
