A SINGING star who imitated Barbra Streisand’s unique voice for a TV show is taking her talents to a top London cabaret venue.

Winter Halamadres, from Leigh, who goes by the stage name Winter, will take to the stage later this month at London’s Crazy Coqs as she performs her musical stage show “Streisand Uncovered”, which is dedicated to the icon.

Alongside her show, Winter has also provided the singing voice for the star in Sky Arts show “When Joan Kissed Barbra”.

Winter described the TV role as a “milestone” in her career.

She said: “I was really excited.

“It was an absolute privilege to experience it and I feel really lucky.

“When I watched it back I was so overwhelmed and happy, especially as a fan.

“I’m really proud of it. It’s something I never thought I’d get to do.

“It was a proper milestone.”

Before she started touring the country with her show dedicated to Streisand, Winter worked as a manager at Southend’s well-known Railway Hotel pub.

Her agent, Simon Campbell, first heard Winter perform in the pub. The pair have now been working together for more than five years on the successful show.

Speaking about the inspiration behind her performance, Winter said: “It starts with her childhood and how she became famous and what she did with her fame from the 60s to the 90s.

“I made the show because I’m obsessed with Barbra Streisand.

“I feel like I have a lot in common with her in being an outcast and a creative person.

“When I watched her in Funny Girl, I felt a lot of emotion towards her.

“She’s an absolute genius. She’s the most incredible artist to ever exist.”

She is preparing for her first performance in over a year.

She added: “I’m excited and I’m nervous. I can’t wait to see people and interact with the audience again. It’s definitely an important one considering where we are in the world.

“It’s a performance I will never forget.”
