Streets in Chigwell and Harlow are among those set to be temporarily closed over the coming weeks while roadworks take place.

Essex County Council have placed a notice in this week’s edition of the Guardian outlining the closures that are scheduled to take place, starting in Theydon Mount and Nazeing at the end of this week.

Mount End Road, Theydon Mount, is set to be shut to vehicles from a point approximately 340 metres south-west of its junction with Banks Lane for distance of approximately 95m in a southerly direction for one day on Friday for cabling works.

On the same day Betts Lane, Nazeing, is also due to be closed for one day from its junction with Nazeing Common for a distance of approximately 115m in a north-westerly direction due to pole installation works

An order has also been approved for the closure of Ashlyns Lane, Bobbingworth, from Monday to allow drainage repair works to be carried out.

The road will be closed from a point approximately 805m north of its junction with Bobbingworth Mill for a distance of approximately 240m in a north-westerly direction, and the work is expected to take five days.

Part of High Road, Chigwell, is due to be closed for seven days from May 31 for water connection works.

The road will be shut from its junction with Green Lane to its roundabout junction with Grange Farm Lane, a distance of approximately 115m.

An overnight closure of a section of London Road, Harlow, is due to begin on June 1 while traffic island, signs and line marking works are carried out.

Traffic will be prevented from using the road from its junction with Walfords Close to its roundabout junctions with First Avenue, a distance of approximately 240m, from 8pm to 5.30am for 11 nights.

Drainage works are set to cause the closure of Low Hill Road, Roydon, for five days from June 1.

A 1450m stretch will be affected in this instance, from its junction with Epping Road to its junction with Netherall Road.

Also from June 1, The Orchards, Epping, is due to be shut for seven days from a point approximately 95m east of its junction with Bower Hill for a distance of approximately 45m in a northerly direction. This is for power connection works.
