Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
The emergency services were called to Badburgham Court in Waltham Abbey in the early hours of Saturday morning (June 5).
Essex Police say they were called by colleagues from the ambulance service shortly before 1.45am to reports a vehicle had collided with a woman.
A woman had sustained serious injuries and she was taken to hospital.
Police say a 28-year-old woman from Waltham Abbey has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, failing to stop and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
An Essex Police spokesperson said: "We do not believe there is any wider threat to the community but we would like to hear from anybody who witnessed the incident or has dashcam or Ring doorbell footage of it.
"If anyone has information on the incident but has not yet spoken to us, we would encourage them to do so by calling 101 and quoting incident 94 of today June 5."
