The founder of 3food4u rose to his fundraising challenge in impressive fashion by hiking his way to a top-five finish in The Perambulation on Saturday.

Pesh Kapasiawala took part in the self-navigation event in Exmoor National Park to mark the first anniversary of the emergency food provider.

He completed the 30 miles and 1200m ascent in 9 hours 30 minutes to finish first in his group and in the top five overall out of the 300-plus people who took part.

It’s not too late to sponsor Pesh, who is also the charity’s chair of trustees, to help him get to his target of £1500 and support the charity’s vital work.

His fundraising page is at https://www.stewardship.org.uk/pages/3food4u_ExmoorChallenge

If Pesh’s actions have inspired you, why not support 3food4u by organising a fundraising event or challenge of your own.

The charity already has a number of local residents running the London Marathon and fundraising for it in October - Joe Bristow, Daniel Coates, Yasin Patel, Tom Coles and Daniel St Philip.

Epping Forest Guardian:

Daniel St Philip will be running for 3food4u in the London Marathon
