Pictured above is Epping High Street c1900 showing the Victoria Buildings on the left that had opened in 1899.

Designed by Loughton architect Edmund Egan, the building had a large hall on the upper floor for public meetings and the Urban District Council met here.

The ground floor was occupied by Alfred Davis who was a prominent printer and produced many local postcards of Epping.

It was sadly replaced in 1967 with a less inspiring building.
