A fair is taking place to help fund the regeneration of a recreation ground.

The Epping Playground Association, which hopes to refurbish the play and social areas at Lower Swaines Recreation Ground in Epping, has a target of £120,000 to raise.

A ‘HappyFest’ event will be taking place at the recreation ground, offering live music and many stalls, in hopes to raise the money.

The event will be opened up by Epping Town mayor, Michael Wright, and will feature the association’s plans to refurbish the playground with equipment for children of all ages.

It's aimed at families with plenty of refreshments (including a Prosecco bar), readings from book authors, forest play activities and craft activities.

It takes place on Sunday (September 26) and runs from 12pm until 4.30pm.
