A father-of-four found dead in a Nazeing last month has been described as "the greatest dad" by his family.

Jimmy Moore, 33, died in Palmers Grove at about 07:15 BST on 25 September.

Robert Crabtree, 33, of Palmers Grove, Nazeing has been charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

In a statement, Mr Moore's wife said he was "the best husband, son and brother".

"He was the greatest dad to his four children," she added.

She said: "He will be missed by so many but his family will never be the same without him.

“Every Sunday was family day and the children would pick what they wanted to do and that would be done.

“Whatever we wanted was never a ‘no’. Jimmy would say ‘yes’ and get it. None of us ever went without.

“His passion in life was to work hard and enjoy his life with his family.

“We had a holiday booked for Lapland in December and we had our future planned as a family.

“We had the boys’ first football match booked. That Saturday morning he was going to work to then get back for the match – he never missed one.

“He was so proud of all his children and the things they were doing well in.”

Mr Crabtree is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on 25 October.

Essex Police are continuing to appeal for anyone who has information or footage to contact them quoting the reference 42/207979/21.
