An Epping Forest charity is continuing to play its part to try and help make loneliness a thing of the past.
Voluntary Action Epping Forest (VAEF) is running a campaign looking at the needs of befriending in Ongar and Waltham Abbey.
The charity has previously had great success with befriending and is determined to help isolated and vulnerable people access new social clubs and services to help end loneliness and increase interaction with others.
If you are an organisation with client waiting lists, contact VAEF if you need help in looking for volunteers to increase capacity in befriending roles.
Contact Maggie Gilchrist on 07443 264 422 or by email at volunteering@vaef.org.uk and she can ensure your volunteering opportunity is posted on Volunteering Essex and discuss any new potential roles you are developing in your organisation/group.
If you are an individual or know of someone in need of a befriending service, contact admin@vaef.org.uk and VAEF will assist you in finding the right help for you.
