The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is looking for volunteers to help care for patients.

The voluntary services team says volunteers will perform a variety of duties including talking to them, reading them a story, or playing music for them.

This role has become particularly important during a time when visiting is restricted because of Covid-19.

Volunteers must be able to give a minimum of four hours per week.

Jayne Moscow, voluntary services coordinator for compassionate care, said: "We are delighted to offer this life enriching opportunity to help make a difference for our patients and people.

"We have over 120 volunteers across our three sites, who play an invaluable role in the daily running of the hospital.

"Get involved and volunteer with us today – we can offer you a full training programme, including caring for our patients who have a learning disability, or are living with dementia, and one-to-one support sessions."
