Streets in Loughton and Waltham Abbey are among those set to be temporarily closed for roadworks during the next month.

A notice from Essex County Council in this week’s edition of the Guardian details the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be introduced until the works are completed.

All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months and the date when works are carried out can vary.

Pick Hill, Waltham Abbey, is due to be closed for five days from January 31 for new power connection works.

The road will be shut to vehicles from a point approximately 505m north-west of its junction with Horseshoe Hill for a distance of approximately 30m in a north-westerly direction.

An alternative route will be available via Pick Hill, Upshire Road, Paternoster Hill and vice versa.

Part of Hastingwood Road, Hastingwood, is set to be shut for one day on February 6 for water connection works.

The road will be closed from a point approximately 115m south-west of its junction with Mill Street for a distance of approximately 35m in a south-westerly direction.

The diversion will be via Mill Street, Harlow Common, London Road, Hastingwood Roundabout, Canes Lane, Hastingwood Road and vice versa.

A five-day closure affecting Chequers Road, Loughton, is due to begin on February 7.

This is for water connection works and will be from the junction with Lushes Road for a distance of approximately 35m in a south-westerly direction.

The alternative route will be via Colson Road, Bushfields, Deepdene Road, Chequers Road and vice versa.

Water repair works are scheduled to close Greensted Road, Ongar, for three days from February 8.

The closure will apply from a point approximately 670m south-east then north-east of its junction with Drapers Corner for a distance of approximately 50m in a north-easterly direction.

Motorists are advised to use Coopers Hill, Stanford Rivers Road, Romford Road, London Road, Church Road, School Road, Toot Hill Road, Mill Lane and vice versa instead.
